Title: The Story of Tom Brennan

Author: JC Burke

The Story of Tom Brennan is a drama type fictional novel that will keep lingering in your mind for ages. Burke’s effective use of narrative conventions like foreshadowing, simple short sentences and first person point of view allow you to get into the novel and see what's happening. The novel is set from Tom's perspective. Tom is a teenager who loves to play rugby but his life changes abruptly when his older brother, Daniel, commits a drink drive accident leading to two deaths and one bad injury. As the story unravels, readers experience many other issues and get to pick up many facts and truth about Tom and his family. Readers get fully engaged until the very last page of the novel. Burke has written a very creative work and I'll highly recommend all teenagers to have a go at 'The Story of Tom Brennan' and I am sure that after reading it, the story will linger for ages in your mind.
