Where sponsorship money goes

All the money you raise from friends and family who sponsor you when you enter the MS Readathon goes to help people in Australia living with MS.

  • $50 - Pays for a newly diagnosed person to attend an "Understanding MS" session where they can learn about their diagnosis and get much needed support.
  • $150 - Pays for a 4 week fatigue management class for a person with MS to learn how to manage their fatigue associated with MS. MS can make someone very tired.
  • $225 - Pays for a flexible assistance package for a young person living in a nursing home to enable them to go out and participate in a leisure or social activity.
  • $300 - Pays for a counselling session for individuals experiencing depression related to their diagnosis of MS.
  • $350 - Pays for a physiotherapy assessment including a home program of exercises and a review.
  • $725 - Pays for an attendant carer to provide in-home personal care to a person with MS.
  • $1200 - Pays for a person to have a neuropsychology assessment to identify thinking & memory changes related to MS and a management plan.
  • $1900 - Pays for a financial grant to assist a person purchase an air conditioner to help relieve MS symptoms made worse by summer heat.
  • $2650 - Pays for a weeks respite stay to give a person with MS and their family a much needed break from their care routines.
  • $5500 - Pays for a financial grant to assist a person purchase a wheelchair.
  • $7500 - Pays for a day visit to a rural area by our team of health professionals to conduct education & consultations with people affected by MS.
