A horse called Hero

This is a story about a dappled grey horse called Hero, a brother and sister called Wolfie and Dodo and their father. This book is set in world war 2 when Dodo and Wolfie are evacuated from their home city of London to the countryside. There they meet an old lady called Mrs Sprig who takes care of them for a while and their post person Mary. Their father served in the war but is accused of an offence and sentenced to prison for 2 years. I liked this book because of the relationship between Wolfie and his horse, Hero. Hero is stolen and used as a coal miners horse. Wolfie rescues him and in the end Wolfie, Dodo and their Pa are reunited. Show more Show less
