Lara is never centre stage; she’s always inferior, forgotten or overlooked. She’s 1) consumed by a history assignment as given by an enigmatic, new teacher and 2) joins the school musical for the first time, that reroutes her Year 10 experience. Her friendships are tested, she embarks on first love and spirals with her own sense of self.
It was interesting to see how the contemporary and mystery layers would work, and it was a refreshing narrative.
