I've been trying to write a proper review of this book for a couple of days now but I can't seem to find the right words. So I'm going to attempt this with colours - a bright sunshine yellow for moments like Oli meeting Mac and Maggie, and a terrifying dark blue for moments like Oli working on Poseideon.
This definitely would have been a 5 star read for me if it weren't for the ending. The first 3 quarters of the book were nothing short of exceptional. I was so drawn into Oli's powerful and incredibly emotional story. The other characters are just as brilliant.
But the ending was a really big let down for me. I loved the other women Oli met but it felt flat, and did not compliment the rest of the book.
What I really loved was the beautiful use of colour. The narrative was so descriptive, fascinating and heartbreaking, it was easy to get caught up in it. And Mac and Maggie really stole the show for me.Show moreShow less
