I loved this book, the romance between the two characters unfolded at a decent rate and the major plot was unexpected. would recommend.
After an unexpected death, Beyah is forced to move to Texas to live with her father, whom she barely knows.

Beyah plans on laying low until it's time for her to leave at the end of the Summer, but everything changes when she meets Samson, their neighbour.

What I really loved about this story was Beyah's realisation that while people were not always kind to her, she also didn't make the effort for them either, which meant her pity party doesn't last long. The tragedies in her life make her tough and cold, but it didn't seem farfetched. She was a main character you couldn't help but cheer for.

I loved the rest of the characters too, especially Sara, Brian and Alana.

I didn't predict Samson's past, which is another reason I really enjoyed reading this book.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

Well, where do I start with this one? At first, I wasn't too sure how I was going to like Beyah, to be honest. A whole lot happens just in the first chapter or so, but I wasn't sure about her attitude and what type of character she would turn out to be.

As it turns out, she's a pretty strong individual, who had just been dealt a really bad hand in life, and she had become a product of that as a result. When she goes to her Dad's place and meets Sara, Marcos and Samson, her whole world changes, and it's really interesting to see how she adapts and grows in the new environment.

There were quite a few characters that I liked in this book, and the way all the secrets come out at the end, was NOT was I was expecting. I mean, I had some guesses, but man, was I thrown when it all came to a head.

Beyah and Samson's journey together is quite interesting in terms of the way they communicate and understand each other. Despite everything I feel that I still really liked these two together after finishing the book.

This was yet another great read from Colleen Hoover that kept me on my toes, and I definitely recommend it.
