This Book is amazing full of twists and turns but may be confronting to some people because even though it isn't a true story is is based in Australia.
This was a really great book. It was very sad but thought provoking and sends a very strong message. It is about this boy called Shubi who has been in a detention camp (in Australia) since he was born. His mum and sister fled a dangerous country to come and be safe in Australia. The camp and HORRIBLE living conditions is all Shubi has ever known. Until a "outside girl" called Jimmie who has a book of her dead mothers stories, comes sneaks into the camp. Jimmie and Shubi bond over the stories in the book. Since Jimmie never learnt to read, Shubi reads them to her. They form an unbreakable friendship . It proves very valuable when they both need eachother the most.
