This is a very powerful and meaning book, which conveys the deep meaning of the Holocaust. The main character being a German Boy called Bruno, the story surrounds his german family - who despises the Jews as Bruno's dad is the commander of the German Army ruled by the Nazi Leader Hitler. Also including the friendship he develops with a Jewish boy, on the other side of the fence.

'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas' by John Boyne was one of those books you can't put down. It was one of those books that you wish you could talk the characters out of doing things. It was one of those books that just kept thinking about, and one of those books that you wish never came to an end. I really enjoyed this book!!

I would rate this book a 8/10 because the detail was great and I loved Bruno. Bruno was really funny and a typical boy. It is a great book overall.
